About Wave Lab
Born inside a high-school physics classroom in Brăila, Romania, Wave Lab was built to turn abstract wave mathematics into tangible, interactive laboratory experiences.
The Teacher's Dilemma
In classical physics textbooks, waves are depicted as static sine curves drawn on two-dimensional paper. For decades, teachers have drawn these oscillations on blackboards, explaining that light is an electromagnetic wave oscillating hundreds of trillions of times per second and sound is a longitudinal pressure oscillation moving through air.
Yet students constantly asked the same fundamental questions:
“Why does 650 nanometers look red? Why does 440 Hertz sound like the musical note A? If they are both waves governed by the exact same equation v = f·λ, why do our brains perceive them so differently?”
Traditional online calculators failed to answer these questions visually. Most web tools were either bare numerical converters or isolated music toys without scientific context. There was no single platform where you could enter a wavelength, see the exact CIE 1931 color render in real-time, inspect its RGB/XYZ coordinates, calculate its photon energy in electron-volts, and directly compare it to the acoustic physics of sound.
